Hello.

My name is Betsy. I’m 36 years old, I live in Minneapolis, and in the summer of 2020, my world was turned upside down with a sudden and unexpected stage IV cancer diagnosis.

It was in the midst of a global pandemic, plummeting economy, racial justice uprisings and overall sprawling mayhem that I learned I was up against a rare and aggressive monster called “cholangiocarcinoma” (try saying that three times fast).

You can also call it metastatic bile duct cancer, and by the time I even sensed anything was wrong, it’d already made itself at home in my brain, spine and liver.

We all have the right to handle a game-changing cancer diagnosis however we want. I’ve decided to share the good, the bad, and the ugly, simply because I feel less alone inviting others along for the ride.

Fund the Battle.

When fighting cancer becomes a full-time job, it doesn’t include an income. This fund will help out with rent, bills, groceries, medical costs, and so on. Give only if you can, only if you want.
